About Flash Goddess

FlashGoddess.com is a resource and community site showcasing and promoting women who work in the technology industry. Profiles and spotlight interviews with talented designers, artists, coders, animators and authors are featured as well as book reviews, a Gallery, and much more.

Founded in 2002 by Ann-Marie Cheung, FlashGoddess.com began as an experimental attempt to discover where all the “Flash Goddesses” were hiding (women who work with Adobe Flash (formerly Macromedia Flash) software). It has since grown to become an internationally recognized, inspirational site for women in the technology industry.

*Although Flash was previously a dominant platform for online multimedia content, it is slowly being abandoned as Adobe favors a transition to HTML5. Flash Player has been deprecated and has an official end-of-life by 2020. However, Adobe will continue to develop Adobe AIR, a related technology for building stand-alone applications and games.

About Ann-Marie

Ann-Marie is a tech-savvy visual artist and lifelong learner with a background in visual art and multimedia design. Currently, she is expanding her expertise by pursuing an advanced diploma in Landscape Design. Combining her passion for art and design with a love for nature and gardening has been profoundly fulfilling for her. In recent years, Ann-Marie has channeled this enthusiasm into creating public art pieces, including vibrant murals and intricately painted picnic benches.

Her interest in environmental issues has deepened as she has explored how art can contribute to more sustainable and ecologically conscious spaces. This passion drives her to integrate environmentally friendly practices and principles into her projects, from using eco-friendly materials to designing spaces that promote biodiversity and ecological balance.

The allure of outdoor spaces and their potential for environmental impact have continuously inspired Ann-Marie’s creativity, pushing her to reimagine and enhance environments on a broader scale. This pursuit not only aligns with her artistic and design passions but also with her commitment to environmental stewardship. She is excited to share the evolving chapters of this transformative journey with those who value the synergy between artistic expression, sustainable practices, and the natural world.
